BLT believes that dredging Buckeye Lake to remove nearly 200 years of sediment from the bottom of the Lake, is the most important long term initiative that will improve water quality.  Dredging will result in a clearer, cleaner and deeper Lake.  Beginning in the Spring of 2022, the Buckeye Lake ODNR will begin utilizing a new $1.4M dredge in the East end of the Lake.  BLT worked in cooperation with BL2036 and various stakeholders to help the ODNR to get the funding approved to purchase the new dredge.  BLT also was instrumental in helping the State of Ohio acquire 68 acres of land from the Catholic Diocese of Columbus in Perry County that will be used to reclaim the dredged material.
